During Solemn High Mass, following parish custom, after the Gospel on Sunday (May 1st), telling of our Lord's appearance to St Thomas, the Children, with the help of the Altar Guild, will decorate the Cross with fresh flowers.  This will be a special Thanks-giving to our Lord for First Communion, for a number of participants.  Others may be looking forward to their first Communions in the future.  A special feature of the arrangements will be the Five Red Flowers that recall our Lord's Five Wounds, which He showed to St. Thomas on the Eighth Day of the Resurrection.  Some may wish to bring flowers from home to add to those the Altar Guild brings.  This is great, especially if you have some spectacular blooms that would add to our floral offering.
